TP Stage 5

The pictures will tell the story of a great 197 KMP ride out today. Days Video

This was a long day out and they warned us not to do this alone. So after my attitude shift of stage 4, I started and headed out catching the team ahead of me after about 25km. This group of riders became a team that lasted the rest of the race. We all worked, supported and navigated for each other and by the end of the race, became good friends. It was also a complete blessing for me as my Garmin 2040, that was supposed to have 72 hours of battery life, suddenly died after 6 hours. So I had to completely rely on the team for navigation for the rest of the day. Found out I had to change settings for better battery life. The last half of the stage my tummy bug hit with unbelievable cramps. Nothing to do but carry on. On a stage taking over 10 hours this was tough. I don’t know if I would have survived if I was alone. We were all so proud and relieved crossing the line together.
